- What is it?
- Tiny injections of botulinum toxin that relax the small muscles that crease the skin when you frown, raise your brows or squint.
- How many sessions?
- One visit gives the effect. It is usually repeated every three to four months if you wish to keep it.
- How long does it last?
- Usually three to four months. The muscle slowly regains movement and the lines return gradually.
- Is it safe for Indian skin?
- Yes. The injection acts on the muscle, not on skin pigment, so skin tone does not limit it. The dose is planned for your face and expressions.
What is Anti-Wrinkle Injections?
Anti-wrinkle injections use a purified protein called botulinum toxin, given in very small doses into chosen facial muscles. It temporarily blocks the signal from the nerve to the muscle, so the muscle relaxes.
Lines that come from repeated movement, such as forehead lines, frown lines and crow's feet, soften when the muscle behind them moves less. Deeper lines that are there even at rest often need other treatment alongside, such as fillers or skin treatments.
It is a medical procedure and should only be done by a doctor who knows facial anatomy. The aim is a natural, rested look where you can still make expressions.

- Review
A check after about two weeks lets the doctor see the full effect and adjust with a small touch-up if needed.

- Early lines in your late twenties and thirties, to slow them from deepening

- A strong, square jaw from clenching, for slimming of the lower face
- Visible neck bands
Is anti-wrinkle injections safe for Indian skin?
Anti-wrinkle injections work on the muscle under the skin, so they do not heat or injure pigment and carry no extra risk of dark patches on Indian skin. What matters is the face: many Indian faces have strong brow and jaw muscles and a heavier brow, so the doctor plans the dose and the points carefully to avoid a heavy or flat look. Lines also show differently on darker skin, often as shadows and creases, and the doctor plans around those.
Who should delay or avoid it?
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- Myasthenia gravis or another nerve-muscle disease
- Allergy to any ingredient in the product
- An active infection, cold sore or open wound on the area
- Medicines that affect nerves and muscles, such as some antibiotics (tell the doctor)
- Very high expectations of removing deep lines that are present at rest
The doctor checks your medicines and health before any procedure and may advise waiting or a different treatment.

Results: what to expect
The effect builds over three to seven days and is usually at its fullest by two weeks. Lines from movement soften and the face looks more rested, while you can still make expressions. The effect fades gradually over about three to four months. Over time, some people find they need it less often. Results depend on your muscles, the dose and the area.
Does it hurt?
Most people feel a quick pinch or sting from a very fine needle, over in seconds. It is generally well tolerated and does not need an anaesthetic. A cold pack can be used if you are sensitive.
Anti-Wrinkle Injections cost in Chennai
The cost depends on your skin and your plan. What decides it:
- The number of areas treated, such as forehead only or forehead, frown and crow's feet.
- The dose each area needs, which depends on muscle strength.
- Larger muscles, such as the jaw, which need more product.
- How often you repeat the treatment.

Anti-Wrinkle Injections: questions
At what age should I start?
There is no set age. Many people start when lines begin to show at rest or appear early with expression, often in the late twenties or thirties. The doctor decides after seeing your face.
Will I look frozen?
Not if the dose is planned well. The aim is to soften the movement, not to stop it, so you still look like yourself.
Does it hurt?
It feels like a quick pinch. Most people find it easier than they expected.
Is it the same as a filler?
No. Anti-wrinkle injections relax muscles, and fillers add volume. They are often used together for different problems.
Can I have it while breastfeeding or pregnant?
It is not given during pregnancy or breastfeeding because the safety is not established. Wait until after.
Is jaw slimming safe?
Done by a doctor for a strong masseter muscle, it is a recognised use. The jaw looks slimmer over weeks as the muscle reduces, and the doctor will tell you if you are suitable and what to expect.
What if I do not like the result?
The effect is temporary. If something looks uneven, a small adjustment at your review often helps, and the effect fades over the months.
Can I exercise after the injections?
Avoid heavy exercise and anything that raises your head's blood flow for 24 hours. Light walking is fine.
Will my lines get worse when it wears off?
No. They return to how they would have looked without treatment. Some people find the lines look softer over time because the muscle has been used less.
Can it be combined with other treatments?
Yes. It is often paired with fillers for volume, skin boosters for hydration and lasers or peels for texture and tone. The doctor plans the order.
Do I need a consultation before a treatment?
Yes. Every treatment starts with a consultation. The doctor examines you and advises a procedure only if it suits you; many can be done the same day.
