What is it?
A facial that uses medical-grade products and techniques chosen by a skin doctor for your skin type and concern.
How many sessions?
One session gives a fresher look. For oily or acne-prone skin, a monthly session as maintenance is common.
How long does it last?
The glow lasts a few days to a few weeks. It is a maintenance treatment, not a one-time fix.
Is it safe for Indian skin?
Yes. It is gentle, has no downtime, and the products are picked for your skin type and sensitivity.

What is Medifacial?

A medifacial is a facial built on a doctor's assessment of your skin. Instead of a fixed salon routine, the doctor or a trained therapist working to the doctor's plan picks the cleanser, exfoliation, extraction method, serum and mask for what your skin needs that day.

It sits between a salon facial and a clinical peel: more targeted than the first, gentler and with less downtime than the second. It is useful as a regular maintenance visit and as preparation before other treatments.

Used for

What it can help with

  • Planned by a doctor

Products and steps picked for your skin, not a fixed menu.

  • Deep cleansing

Clears surface oil, dirt and blackheads.

  • No downtime

You can go back to your day straight away.

  • Gentle

Suits sensitive skin and people new to treatments.

  • Good preparation

Helps skin before peels, microneedling or events.

How does it work?

  1. Skin check

The doctor looks at your skin type, oil, dryness, sensitivity and any active acne.

  2. Deep cleanse

A double cleanse removes make-up, oil and surface dirt.

  3. Exfoliation

A gentle enzyme, acid or mechanical exfoliant lifts dead cells without scrubbing hard.

  4. Extraction

Blackheads and whiteheads are removed with sterile technique where suitable.

  5. Treatment layer

Serums, a mild peel or a mask chosen for your skin are applied, followed by sunscreen.

What happens during a session?

  1. Skin check

The doctor examines your skin and asks about products and medicines you use.

  2. Cleanse

A double cleanse removes make-up and surface oil.

  3. Exfoliate and extract

A gentle exfoliant is used, and blackheads are cleared where suitable.

  4. Treatment

Serums, a mild peel or a mask matched to your skin are applied.

  5. Finish

A calming cream and sunscreen go on, and you can leave straight away.

Who is a good candidate?

  • Dull, tired-looking skin
  • Oily skin, blackheads and clogged pores
  • Dry or dehydrated skin
  • Sensitive skin that cannot take a scrub or strong peel
  • A gentle reset before an event
  • Regular maintenance between other treatments

Is medifacial safe for Indian skin?

A medifacial is mild and carries little risk of pigmentation, which makes it a suitable first step for Indian skin. The doctor avoids harsh scrubs and strong acids on sensitive or darker skin, and chooses ingredients for your skin type. Sunscreen after the session is part of the treatment.

Who should delay or avoid it?

  • An active infection, cold sore or open wound on the area
  • Active, inflamed or cystic acne on the area (the doctor treats the acne first)
  • Sunburn or a fresh tan on the area
  • A peel or laser on the area within the past week
  • Rosacea flare or eczema flare

The doctor checks your medicines and health before any procedure and may advise waiting or a different treatment.

Results: what to expect

Skin usually looks cleaner, smoother and better hydrated straight after the session, with pores looking clearer. The glow is short-term, so a medifacial is most useful as a regular visit alongside a home-care routine. It does not treat deep scars or strong pigmentation; the doctor suggests other treatments for those.

Does it hurt?

It is a comfortable treatment. Extraction of blackheads can feel like brief pinching, and the doctor eases off if the skin is tender.

Medifacial cost in Chennai

The cost depends on your skin and your plan. What decides it:

  • The steps included: extraction, mask, a mild peel or a serum infusion.
  • Your skin concern and the products it needs.
  • A single visit or a monthly plan.

Medifacial: questions

How is a medifacial different from a parlour facial?

A doctor assesses your skin and plans the products and steps. A parlour facial usually follows a standard routine. The comparison above sets out the differences.

Can I have it if I have pimples?

Mild acne is fine. If pimples are inflamed or cystic, the doctor treats the acne first because extraction and massage can make them worse.

How often should I have one?

Many people have one every four weeks. The doctor may space it differently if you are also having peels or other treatments.

Will it help with dark spots?

It helps tone only a little. Dark spots need peels, creams or a laser, and the doctor suggests the right one.

Can men have a medifacial?

Yes. It suits oily skin, blackheads and shaving irritation in men too.

Is it safe in pregnancy?

Some gentle versions are, but the doctor chooses ingredients carefully and avoids strong acids. Tell us if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Can I have it before a wedding?

Yes. A week before is usually a good time, so any redness settles. Do not try a new facial on the day of the event.

Does it need a skin test first?

The doctor checks your skin and history first. A patch test is done if you have reacted to products before.

Can I combine it with other treatments?

Yes. It is often used to prepare skin before peels or microneedling, but not on the same day as a strong treatment unless the doctor plans it.

Do I need a consultation before a treatment?

Yes. Every treatment starts with a consultation. The doctor examines you and advises a procedure only if it suits you; many can be done the same day.
