Anti-ageing

Anti-ageing treatment at Chamak Clinic, Chennai

The smallest effective step for the change that bothers you.

Skin ages in layers: fine lines and dullness on the surface, wrinkles from muscle movement, loss of volume underneath and loosening of the skin's support.

What causes anti-ageing?

  • Natural loss of collagen and elastin with age
  • Sun exposure, the largest outside cause of skin ageing
  • Repeated facial expressions
  • Loss of fat and bone in the face over time
  • Smoking, poor sleep and rapid weight change

Signs to look for

  • Fine lines and dull texture
  • Forehead, frown and crow's feet lines
  • Hollow cheeks or under-eyes
  • Loose jawline and neck

The doctor looks at which of these you want to address and suggests the smallest effective step, often starting with a routine and adding a procedure only where it helps. A natural look is the aim.

Types of anti-ageing

  • Fine lines and textureSurface lines, dullness and enlarged pores.
  • Expression linesForehead, frown and crow's feet lines that deepen with movement.
  • Volume lossHollow cheeks, temples and under-eyes; deeper smile lines.
  • LaxityA softer jawline, jowls and loose neck skin.

How the doctor treats it

  • Sunscreen and a retinoid-based routine: the foundation at any age.
  • Anti-wrinkle injections for lines from movement.
  • Fillers and skin boosters for volume and hydration.
  • HIFU, radiofrequency or a thread lift for laxity.
  • Peels and microneedling for texture and fine lines.

The doctor decides what is right for you after examining you. A prescription is written only when one is appropriate.

Your treatment journey

  1. Consultation

The doctor examines your skin or scalp, asks about your history and medicines, and orders tests only if they are needed.

  2. Preparation

Prescribed creams, sun care or a test spot first, so the skin is ready and the risk of irritation stays low.

  3. Treatment

In-clinic sessions, spaced over weeks, alongside a home routine that does most of the daily work.

  4. Aftercare

Review visits, home care and a maintenance plan, so the improvement lasts.

Anti-Ageing Treatment: questions

At what age should I start?

There is no set age. Sunscreen and a good routine help at any age; procedures are considered when a specific change bothers you.

Will I look unnatural?

The aim is to look like a rested version of yourself. The doctor starts with conservative doses and reviews you before adding more.

Which lasts longest?

It depends on the treatment. Anti-wrinkle injections usually last three to four months, fillers six to eighteen months and energy treatments around a year.

Can treatments be combined?

Often, yes. Many people combine an injection for lines with a treatment for texture or laxity, planned over a few visits.

Is there downtime?

Most anti-ageing treatments have little or none: some redness or small bruises that settle in days.

Do I need a consultation before a treatment?

Yes. Every treatment starts with a consultation. The doctor examines you and advises a procedure only if it suits you; many can be done the same day.

How much does a treatment cost?

The consultation is ₹500. Treatment prices depend on the area, what is used and the number of sessions, so the doctor gives you the exact price after examining your skin — before anything is done.

Not sure where to start with anti-ageing?

A consultation comes first: Dr Rohini K examines you, explains the options that suit you, and tells you the plan and the price before anything is done.
