Acne scars & marks
Online skin doctor for acne scars and marks
Dark marks that stay after pimples heal, or dents and pits that make the skin look uneven. Send photos and the skin doctor tells you which are marks that fade and which are scars, because each needs a different plan.
₹299 for a chat consult.
- Dr. Rohini K replies within 30 minutes, day or night.
- Prescription in the chat and on WhatsApp, when one is right
- 48 hours of follow-up questions included
What to send the doctor
- Photos in daylight without make-up: the front of your face and each side, with the light falling from one side to show texture.
- A close photo of the worst area.
- Whether you still get new pimples, and what you use for them now.
- Creams, peels or procedures you have tried for the marks, and whether your skin darkens easily after a cut or a burn.
What the doctor looks for
- Dark or red marks left by pimples, which fade with the right routine and sunscreen.
- Scars: shallow rolling dents, deep narrow pits, box-shaped scars, or raised scars.
- Active acne that is still making new marks. It is treated first.
- Skin that darkens easily, which changes which treatments are safe.
What the plan usually covers
- Treatment for active pimples first, so new marks stop forming.
- A routine for dark marks: a cream at night, chosen for your skin, with sunscreen every morning.
- For dented or pitted scars, a clear view of what creams can and cannot do, and which in-person procedures suit that type of scar.
- When to check back. Dark marks usually take three to six months to fade.
The doctor decides what is right for you. A prescription is written only when one is appropriate.
When a chat is not enough
- A scar that keeps growing, itches or hurts, or spreads beyond the edge of the old pimple.
- A spot that is changing in colour, size or shape, or bleeds.
Questions
- Can acne scars be treated with creams?
- Dark marks fade with creams and sunscreen. Dented or pitted scars do not fill in with creams; they improve with in-person procedures such as microneedling, peels or lasers. The doctor tells you which you have, so you do not spend months on the wrong product.
- How long do acne marks take to fade?
- Usually three to six months with a steady routine and daily sunscreen, and longer on skin that darkens easily. Picking and sun make them last longer.
- Should I treat the scars or the pimples first?
- The pimples. Every new pimple can leave a new mark, so the plan settles active acne first and treats the marks alongside it.
- Who will I be speaking to?
- Dr. Rohini K (MBBS, IFAAM (Aesthetic Medicine), Fellowship in Cosmetic Dermatology), the skin and hair doctor on PingMeDoc™'s teleconsultation panel. Every skin and hair consult booked through Chamak goes to the skin doctor, day or night, with a reply usually within 30 minutes.
- What does it cost?
- ₹299 for a chat consult. Audio or video from ₹499. The price is shown before you pay and covers the written plan and 48 hours of follow-up questions in the same chat.
- Will I get a prescription?
- Only if the doctor finds one appropriate. When issued, it is a digital prescription sent in the chat and on WhatsApp, valid at any pharmacy.
- Where does the consult happen?
- Booking, payment and the chat run on www.pingmedoc.com, our teleconsultation site. You are asked for a phone number and a one-time code at payment, and nothing before that. Chamak and PingMeDoc are the same company.
