Psoriasis

Online skin doctor for psoriasis and scaly patches

Thick, red patches with silvery scales on the elbows, knees, scalp or lower back, that come and go. Send photos and the skin doctor confirms whether it is psoriasis and writes a plan to keep it under control.

₹299 for a chat consult.

  • Dr. Rohini K replies within 30 minutes, day or night.
  • Prescription in the chat and on WhatsApp, when one is right
  • 48 hours of follow-up questions included

What to send the doctor

  1. Photos in daylight of each kind of patch, close and from further away.
  2. A photo of your scalp and your nails if they are affected.
  3. Every cream, oil and tablet you have used, with the names, including steroid creams.
  4. Joint pain or morning stiffness, and whether anyone in the family has psoriasis.

What the doctor looks for

  • Psoriasis and the look-alikes that are treated differently: eczema, fungal infection and lichen planus.
  • Scalp, nail and skin-fold psoriasis, which need their own treatment.
  • How much of the skin is involved, which decides between creams and tablets.
  • Joint pain that can mean psoriatic arthritis, which needs a specialist.

What the plan usually covers

  • A prescription cream or scalp lotion for the patches, with how long to use it.
  • A daily moisturiser, and how to lift thick scales gently.
  • What makes flares worse: stress, smoking, alcohol, infections and some medicines.
  • When tablets or light treatment are needed, and the tests that go with them.

The doctor decides what is right for you. A prescription is written only when one is appropriate.

When a chat is not enough

See a doctor in person today if you have:
  • Red, peeling skin over most of the body, or a flare with fever and chills.
  • Small pus bumps spreading fast, or painful, swollen joints.

Questions

Can psoriasis be cured?
Psoriasis is controlled rather than cured. Most people keep it quiet for long periods with the right creams, a daily moisturiser and knowing what sets off their flares.
Is psoriasis contagious?
No. It does not spread to another person by touch, by sharing towels or by living together.
Can psoriasis be treated with an online consultation?
Mild and moderate psoriasis usually can, from photos and the history. If you need tablets that call for blood tests, or light treatment, the doctor tells you.
Who will I be speaking to?
Dr. Rohini K (MBBS, IFAAM (Aesthetic Medicine), Fellowship in Cosmetic Dermatology), the skin and hair doctor on PingMeDoc™'s teleconsultation panel. Every skin and hair consult booked through Chamak goes to the skin doctor, day or night, with a reply usually within 30 minutes.
What does it cost?
₹299 for a chat consult. Audio or video from ₹499. The price is shown before you pay and covers the written plan and 48 hours of follow-up questions in the same chat.
Will I get a prescription?
Only if the doctor finds one appropriate. When issued, it is a digital prescription sent in the chat and on WhatsApp, valid at any pharmacy.
Where does the consult happen?
Booking, payment and the chat run on www.pingmedoc.com, our teleconsultation site. You are asked for a phone number and a one-time code at payment, and nothing before that. Chamak and PingMeDoc are the same company.
