Ringworm & fungal infection
Online skin doctor for ringworm and fungal infection
Itchy, ring-shaped patches in the groin, on the waist, thighs, underarms or feet, often coming back after a cream from the medical shop. Send photos and the doctor confirms whether it is fungal and writes a plan to clear it fully.
₹299 for a chat consult.
- Dr. Rohini K replies within 30 minutes, day or night.
- Prescription in the chat and on WhatsApp, when one is right
- 48 hours of follow-up questions included
What to send the doctor
- A close photo of each patch in daylight, and one from further away to show its size.
- Every cream you have used, with the name on the tube. Steroid combination creams matter here.
- How long it has been there, and whether others at home are itching too.
- Diabetes, pregnancy, and any medicines you take.
What the doctor looks for
- Ringworm (tinea) and its look-alikes: eczema, psoriasis and skin-fold rashes.
- A fungal infection changed by steroid creams, which spreads and is harder to treat.
- How widespread it is, and whether a cream is enough or tablets are needed.
- Scabies, when the itch is worse at night and family members have it too.
What the plan usually covers
- An antifungal cream, used beyond the patch and for two weeks after it clears.
- Antifungal tablets when it is widespread or has lasted months, when the doctor finds them suitable.
- What to stop: steroid combination creams, tight synthetic clothes, sharing towels.
- How to keep it from coming back: drying skin folds, washing clothes and towels, treating others at home.
The doctor decides what is right for you. A prescription is written only when one is appropriate.
When a chat is not enough
- Red, hot, painful skin that is spreading, or a rash with fever.
- A wound or infection on the foot if you have diabetes.
Questions
- Why does my ringworm keep coming back?
- Usually because the cream was stopped when the itch stopped, a steroid combination cream was used, or someone at home has it too. The plan covers all three.
- How long does fungal treatment take?
- A small patch usually clears in two to four weeks of cream, used for two weeks after it looks clear. Widespread or long-standing infections can take six weeks or more, sometimes with tablets.
- Can I use a steroid cream for the itch?
- No. Creams that combine a steroid with an antifungal calm the itch for a few days and then let the fungus spread. Tell the doctor if you have used one.
- Who will I be speaking to?
- Dr. Rohini K (MBBS, IFAAM (Aesthetic Medicine), Fellowship in Cosmetic Dermatology), the skin and hair doctor on PingMeDoc™'s teleconsultation panel. Every skin and hair consult booked through Chamak goes to the skin doctor, day or night, with a reply usually within 30 minutes.
- What does it cost?
- ₹299 for a chat consult. Audio or video from ₹499. The price is shown before you pay and covers the written plan and 48 hours of follow-up questions in the same chat.
- Will I get a prescription?
- Only if the doctor finds one appropriate. When issued, it is a digital prescription sent in the chat and on WhatsApp, valid at any pharmacy.
- Where does the consult happen?
- Booking, payment and the chat run on www.pingmedoc.com, our teleconsultation site. You are asked for a phone number and a one-time code at payment, and nothing before that. Chamak and PingMeDoc are the same company.
