₹299 for a chat consult.
- Dr. Rohini K replies within 30 minutes, day or night.
- Prescription in the chat and on WhatsApp, when one is right
- 48 hours of follow-up questions included
What to send the doctor
- Photos of the rash or the scratched areas in daylight, close and from further away.
- Where it itches, whether it is worse at night, and whether anyone else at home itches too.
- Every cream, soap and tablet you have used for it, including any cream from the medical shop.
- Diabetes, thyroid, kidney or liver problems, new medicines, and whether you are pregnant.
What the doctor looks for
- The common causes that look alike: ringworm, scabies, eczema, contact allergy, dry skin and hives.
- Whether a steroid cream has changed the rash, which often happens with ringworm.
- Itch with no rash at all, which can come from dry skin or from a problem inside the body.
- Signs of a medicine reaction or an infection from scratching.
What the plan usually covers
- Treatment for the cause, such as an antifungal, a scabies treatment or an eczema plan.
- A soap-free wash and moisturiser routine, with what to stop using.
- An antihistamine at night when the itch is stopping sleep.
- Blood tests when the whole body itches with no rash, and when to check back.
The doctor decides what is right for you. A prescription is written only when one is appropriate.
When a chat is not enough
- A spreading rash with fever, blisters, peeling skin or sores in the mouth or eyes, especially after a new medicine. Go to a hospital now.
- Itching with yellow eyes or skin, dark urine, or weight loss you cannot explain.
Questions
- Why does my body itch more at night?
- Dry skin, eczema and scabies all itch more at night. If others at home itch too, especially between the fingers, scabies is likely and everyone needs treatment together.
- Can I use a steroid cream for itching?
- Not without a doctor. On ringworm, a steroid cream eases the itch for a while and lets the fungus spread. The doctor decides whether a medicated cream suits the cause and for how long.
- Can itching come from a health problem?
- Yes. Itch all over without a rash can come from low iron, thyroid, kidney or liver problems and some medicines. Blood tests help when the skin looks normal.
- Who will I be speaking to?
- Dr. Rohini K (MBBS, IFAAM (Aesthetic Medicine), Fellowship in Cosmetic Dermatology), the skin and hair doctor on PingMeDoc™'s teleconsultation panel. Every skin and hair consult booked through Chamak goes to the skin doctor, day or night, with a reply usually within 30 minutes.
- What does it cost?
- ₹299 for a chat consult. Audio or video from ₹499. The price is shown before you pay and covers the written plan and 48 hours of follow-up questions in the same chat.
- Will I get a prescription?
- Only if the doctor finds one appropriate. When issued, it is a digital prescription sent in the chat and on WhatsApp, valid at any pharmacy.
- Where does the consult happen?
- Booking, payment and the chat run on www.pingmedoc.com, our teleconsultation site. You are asked for a phone number and a one-time code at payment, and nothing before that. Chamak and PingMeDoc are the same company.
