Eczema & itchy rashes
Online skin doctor for eczema, dermatitis and itchy rashes
Dry, itchy, red patches that come and go, a rash after a new soap or hair dye, or itching that keeps you up at night. Send photos and the doctor works out what is behind it and how to calm it.
₹299 for a chat consult.
- Dr. Rohini K replies within 30 minutes, day or night.
- Prescription in the chat and on WhatsApp, when one is right
- 48 hours of follow-up questions included
What to send the doctor
- A close photo of the rash in daylight, and one from further away.
- Photos of your hands, face or the skin folds if the rash is there too.
- When it started, and anything new before it: soap, detergent, cosmetics, hair dye, jewellery or a medicine.
- Asthma or hay fever in you or your family, and whether others at home itch.
What the doctor looks for
- Atopic eczema, the dry itchy skin that runs in families with asthma and hay fever.
- Contact dermatitis, a reaction to something that touched the skin.
- Look-alikes that need other treatment: fungal infection, psoriasis and scabies.
- Signs of infection on top of eczema.
What the plan usually covers
- A moisturiser routine and a gentle cleanser, used every day, not only in a flare.
- A prescription cream for the flare where one is right, with how long to use it.
- Something for the itch at night when it stops you sleeping.
- What to avoid, once the trigger is found.
The doctor decides what is right for you. A prescription is written only when one is appropriate.
When a chat is not enough
- Swelling of the lips, face or tongue, or trouble breathing. Go to an emergency department now.
- A rash with blisters, peeling or fever, or eczema that is weeping and crusted.
Questions
- Can eczema be treated online?
- Most eczema and contact rashes can. Photos show the pattern and the history points to the trigger. If the doctor needs to examine the skin or do a patch test, they tell you.
- Will eczema go away completely?
- Eczema usually comes and goes. A daily moisturiser and knowing your triggers make flares rarer and milder, and a flare settles faster when it is treated early.
- Are steroid creams safe for eczema?
- The right strength, on the right area, for a set number of days, is safe and works. Problems come from strong creams used for months or on the face. The doctor writes exactly how to use it.
- Who will I be speaking to?
- Dr. Rohini K (MBBS, IFAAM (Aesthetic Medicine), Fellowship in Cosmetic Dermatology), the skin and hair doctor on PingMeDoc™'s teleconsultation panel. Every skin and hair consult booked through Chamak goes to the skin doctor, day or night, with a reply usually within 30 minutes.
- What does it cost?
- ₹299 for a chat consult. Audio or video from ₹499. The price is shown before you pay and covers the written plan and 48 hours of follow-up questions in the same chat.
- Will I get a prescription?
- Only if the doctor finds one appropriate. When issued, it is a digital prescription sent in the chat and on WhatsApp, valid at any pharmacy.
- Where does the consult happen?
- Booking, payment and the chat run on www.pingmedoc.com, our teleconsultation site. You are asked for a phone number and a one-time code at payment, and nothing before that. Chamak and PingMeDoc are the same company.
