Warts
Online skin doctor for warts on the hands, feet and face
Rough bumps on the fingers, a painful spot on the sole that looks like a corn, or small flat bumps on the face that keep spreading. Send photos and the skin doctor confirms whether they are warts and what will clear them.
₹299 for a chat consult.
- Dr. Rohini K replies within 30 minutes, day or night.
- Prescription in the chat and on WhatsApp, when one is right
- 48 hours of follow-up questions included
What to send the doctor
- A close photo of each wart in daylight, and one showing how many there are.
- How long they have been there, and whether new ones keep appearing.
- What you have tried: wart paints, corn caps, home remedies or burning.
- Diabetes, or any illness or medicine that lowers immunity.
What the doctor looks for
- Warts and their look-alikes: corns, calluses, moles and skin tags.
- Common, sole and flat warts, which are treated differently.
- Warts on the face, which need gentler treatment.
- Whether treatment at home is likely to work, or a procedure is quicker.
What the plan usually covers
- A salicylic acid treatment for home, with how to apply it and protect the skin around it.
- A prescription cream where one suits the type and the place.
- How to stop them spreading: no picking, no shaving over them, no sharing towels.
- When an in-person procedure such as freezing is the faster option.
The doctor decides what is right for you. A prescription is written only when one is appropriate.
When a chat is not enough
- A growth that bleeds, changes colour or grows quickly.
- Warts or sores on the genitals, which need to be examined in person.
- A painful wart or sore on the foot if you have diabetes.
Questions
- Do warts go away on their own?
- Many do, often within one to two years, especially in children. Treatment makes them go sooner and stops them spreading.
- Are warts contagious?
- Yes, mildly. They spread by touch and on wet floors, so the plan includes simple steps to keep them from spreading to other places and to others at home.
- Can I cut or burn a wart at home?
- No. Cutting, burning or using acid bought for something else can scar the skin or cause an infection. Use only the treatment the doctor writes, the way it is written.
- Who will I be speaking to?
- Dr. Rohini K (MBBS, IFAAM (Aesthetic Medicine), Fellowship in Cosmetic Dermatology), the skin and hair doctor on PingMeDoc™'s teleconsultation panel. Every skin and hair consult booked through Chamak goes to the skin doctor, day or night, with a reply usually within 30 minutes.
- What does it cost?
- ₹299 for a chat consult. Audio or video from ₹499. The price is shown before you pay and covers the written plan and 48 hours of follow-up questions in the same chat.
- Will I get a prescription?
- Only if the doctor finds one appropriate. When issued, it is a digital prescription sent in the chat and on WhatsApp, valid at any pharmacy.
- Where does the consult happen?
- Booking, payment and the chat run on www.pingmedoc.com, our teleconsultation site. You are asked for a phone number and a one-time code at payment, and nothing before that. Chamak and PingMeDoc are the same company.
