Usually not. Treatment makes them fade and flatten, and new red marks respond best.
Do oils and creams in pregnancy prevent stretch marks?
The evidence is weak. Moisturising helps the itch and dryness, but genes and how fast the skin stretches matter most.
What helps old white stretch marks?
Creams do little for old marks. Treatments given in person, such as microneedling or laser, help more, over several sessions.
